Fit Learning is not a one-size, fits all tutoring center in Honolulu. Then, we develop a curriculum and approach, so every learner builds the true mastery of skills for life-long learning. It doesn’t matter if your learner is gifted and talented, struggling, average, or learning disabled;our approach is scientifically proven to meet your child’s needs.

This isn’t just a tutoring center for homework help. Learners are challenged in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, 1-on-1 instructional setting with a Fit Learning Coach using the only teaching method that combines learning science, precision teaching, curriculum-based measurement, and relational frame theory. We consistently see 1-2 grade levels of improvement in 40 hours.

We are located in Kaka’ako, which is Honolulu’s up and coming urban neighborhood. Bordered by downtown Honolulu, and Waikiki, we work and play in one of the most ideal locations in the world. We love being apart of Kakaako as an epicenter of activity – we enjoy everything from restaurants, shops, street art, and boutiques within walking distance.
We serve learners within the Honolulu School District, Windward School District, Central School District, Leeward School District. This includes greater O’ahu island!

Fit Reading
Fit Reading trains grades K-12 to fluency in Phonics, Phonemic Awareness, Oral and Silent Reading, Comprehension, Spelling & Vocabulary.
Fit Math
Fit Math trains grades 1st -12 to fluency in Numeration, Computation, Fractions, Decimals, Ratios, Percents, Algebra, & Problem Solving.
Fit Logic
Fit Logic trains grades K-12 to fluency in Problem Solving, Advanced Comprehension, Critical Thinking, and Study Skills.
Fit Writing
Fit Writing trains grades 3 - 12 to fluency in Grammar, Sentence & Paragraph Construction, Brainstorming, Organization, & Genre Writing.
Lil Fits
Lil' Fits trains pre-K to 1st grade to fluency in Listening, Understanding, Following Instructions, Language Building, Reading Readiness, & Relational Math Concepts.
Fit Homeschool
The school environment can often be challenging for a child. Sometimes, the challenge is so great that its detrimental effects outweigh the benefits. Additionally, there are times when a school placement fails to maximize a child’s full potential. In these cases, a homeschool placement is recommended. When choosing Fit homeschool, parents elect through their school district to homeschool their child. Fit then provides homeschool support and supplementation in core skill areas. Children attend Fit sessions from two to six hours per day three to five days per week and receive intensive one-on-one academic and cognitive training.

Dr. Walton was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She received her Ph.D. in Learning and Behavioral Sciences from West Virginia University. In addition, she re-specialized in Clinical Psychology at the University of Hawai’i. Dr. Walton has been a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst since 2000 and is also a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
In graduate school, Dr. Walton heard Dr. Carl Binder speak about Precision Teaching (PT). She immediately wanted to learn more about PT. Dr. Binder became a mentor and immediately connected her to Elizabeth Haughton, one of the leaders in the PT field. Dr. Walton had the privilege of working with Elizabeth Haughton and spent the summer of 1998 at the Haughton Learning Center in Napa. Dr. Walton also had the privilege of connecting with Dr. Ogden Lindsey who showed her the power of PT and the chart. Dr. Walton is happy to reconnect with her long-time colleagues Dr. Nick Berens and Dr. Kimberly Berens and to be a part of the Fit family to transform the lives of learners in O’ahu.
